Hello from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan at Guindons' Farm! Matt & Barb Guindon's Limousin cattle are raised without antibiotics or added hormones. They are fed a healthy, all vegetarian diet of lush grasses, grown right here on our farm and allowed to grow at their own pace.
All natural choices mean you can feel good about what you are serving your family -- beef that doesn't contain nitrates, nitrites, preservatives, MSG, cereal fillers, or any artificial ingredients to enhance the flavor or texture. It is natural beef that is wholesome, and healthy. If you are a beef lover, you may already know how lean and tender Limousin beef is. We are a very dedicated, family farm located near Escanaba, Michigan.
While our farm was certified organic until June 2025, we made the decision to voluntarily surrender our organic certification. However, nothing about our farming philosophy has changed—we continue to use regenerative, sustainable practices. Our cattle are pasture-raised and receive the highest quality, GMO-free nutritional feeds.
This video is a good representation and explanation of what we do. It does show a label for our beef that carries the "certified organic" seal and we want to be upfront to out customers.
While our beef continues to be processed under USDA inspection at Rainbow Packing, it's important to note that the facility’s organic certification was discontinued in September 2020. Additionally, in June 2025, we made the decision to voluntarily surrender our organic certification for both our land and cattle, as part of an effort to reduce operational costs.
Rainbow Packing still processes our beef first thing each day, without the use of chemical cleaners. They also continue to use only organically certified spices in our bratwursts and beef breakfast sausages—just as they did when the facility held its organic certification. Our commitment to quality and clean processing remains unchanged.
