Hello from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan at Guindons' Farm! Matt & Barb Guindon's Limousin cattle are raised without antibiotics or added hormones. They are fed a healthy, all vegetarian diet of lush grasses, raised on the farm and allowed to grow at their own pace. All natural choices mean you can feel good about what you are serving your family -- beef that doesn't contain nitrates, nitrites, preservatives, MSG, cereal fillers, or any artificial ingredients to enhance the flavor or texture. It is natural beef that is wholesome, and healthy. If you love beef, you may already know how lean and tender Limousin beef is. We are a very dedicated, family farm located near Escanaba, Michigan. Our farm is certified organic which means our cattle not only enjoy being pasture raised, but also get the best in GMO free nutritional feeds.

What does that mean?

Organic agriculture is based on holistic production management systems which promote and enhance agro-ecosystem health, including biodiversity, biological cycles, and soil biological activity. Organic products are identified under specific and precise standards of production based on the use of ecologically sound production practices, which are essential to the identification and labeling of organic products. All products sold by GUINDON FARMS is labeled with a Lot number that follows the animal as it leaves the farm, through the processor, to the retail shelf.

Use of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO's) are not only PROHIBITED, we also consider it dangerous to our cattle.

All inputs must be USDA ORGANIC approved, and cannot contain the following

Chemicals
Hormones
Antibiotics
GMO's

This video is a good representation and explanation of what we do. It does show a label for our beef that carries the "certified organic" seal and we want to be upfront to out customers. Guindon Farms beef is still processed under USDA inspection at Rainbow Packing, but in September of 2020 the organic certification of the processing plant was discontinued. This was an effort to cut down on expenses. All livestock and crops remain certified organic by OCIA but the beef is no longer considered "certified organic beef" and the labels no longer carry that seal. Rainbow Packing still processes our beef at the start of the day and without any chemical cleaners and uses only organic certified spices in our brats and beef breakfast sausage exactly the same as when the facility was certified organic.
